Weekly Photo Challenge: Changing Season

Becak in the Rain

Becak in the Rain

Situbondo, my city, is a coastal town. The flat terrain allows the Abang Becak-s not to exert too much power when they are operating their vehicles (Becak/Pedicab). Therefore, there are still a great number of Becak in Situbondo. Becak is a slow-moving short range transport. The total weight capacity is also not too big. But many people prefer Becak to others because of its coziness, especially when you use it to travel in the countryside where there are not too many motor vehicle. Aside from that, Becak also mark the Changing of the Season.

You see, as shown in the photo, when it is rain, the Becak Driver put a plastic sheet on their vehicle as a protection from the element for their passengers. That’s why, whenever I see a Becak that is equipped with that plastic sheet, I know then that the season has changed… 😀
